I thought the R5000 was only for satellite systems? I could be wrong, I don't have one, but I'm pretty sure that's what it's for.

The R5000 is for any STB that does not have a firewire port. I have Fios and the R5000 is installed in my Motorola DCT2000 STB. As long as the STB does not have a firewire port, the R5000 can be installed in that STB.

I stand corrected, thanks for the info! I'm having FiOS installed on Tuesday (Can't wait!!!!) Did you buy your STB off Ebay or something or direct from nextcom?
