Commercial skip built in??

I was under the impression that commercial skipping was a feature built into sagetv and the features section on the web site would lead anyone to believe that. My PVR is not skipping commercials and I cant find a menu to turn that feature on. What am I missing and where do I go to use this feature?

That feature is done externally using the comskip program or Showanalyzer along with Dirmon2 to monitor the recordings folder. You also need the comskip plugin imported into Sage to recognize those markings. Follow this Brent's Geektonic website

To clarify: automatic commercial detection and skipping is not a built-in feature. You need third-party add-ons for that.

What is built in is the ability to skip rapidly through commercials with a few clicks of the remote. I.e. you don't have to fast-forward through them at double or triple speed; you actually skip over large chunks of them. That's what the "instant skip" language on the Features page is referring to.
