need help cleaning up server
I have been running Sage for quite some time now with extenders, never had much use for viewing Sage on the server HTPC. Now I would like to start using the Server to watch TV while I work in my home office. It seems to be very slow and laggy to start up and tune to channels, especially HD channels via the HD-PVR (STB at 720p) and QAM. I upgraded from an 8400GS to a 9500GT with 1gb Ram, but still same problem. I am running the latest Sage (non-beta), dual core Intel CPU, 4GB ram (PAE)...solid system I built IMO, no issues. I'm using overlay, VMR9 seems to make video playback a bit choppy. I'm considering wiping out all my codecs and re-installing. Any suggestions to help me achieve a fast, smooth running HTPC?
