TV Power using HD200 Remote (??)

Is there a way to program the HD200 remote to also power my TV? That would relieve the need to track down the TV remote every time I sit down to watch.

Thanks...

No.
You might want to consider a universal remote like the Harmony.

Narflex touched on this in the interview on Geektonic - they had real trouble finding a company to supplu a learning remote cost effectively. I replaced mine with a Harmony too, they are much better quality

Although I have a URC remote, there seems to be an IR command (in URC IR database under "power" for the AUX>SageTV>STX-HD100), I can send this to the HD200 and it seems it will power off the TV via the HDMI cable. It however doesn't power the TV back on.

(My HD200 is in an equipment rack and is controlled by a URC MRF-200 so if I issue the command and the TV cannot receive the IR it must be getting the message via HDMI as this is the only connection between TV and HD200. I'm baffled but I'll take it either way.

I use URC remotes almost exclusively now, at my house it's the tx-1000 super sweet and available rather cheap on eBay nowdays.

I have the Harmony (2 actually), but my biggest complaint about them is that you can't use the power button to turn something on and off. It changes "mode" and if you had a block between you and the tv, then it gets confused. It thinks the tv is off but it is on. Or it thinks the tv is off and it really is on. Either way, when it is off the only way I get around it is to cover the remote transmitter and make it think it has done something

Actually you can also use the Help button on the Harmony to get things straightened out.

which harmony remote are you guys using?

The problem is that I have the STV remote memorized and I like the two skip forward and two skip backwards buttons.

I'm using an 880. I also used a 520 a few years ago. Both had the 2 sets of FF and REW. I believe all their remotes do, but I could be wrong.

it actually depends on the equipment

some have discrete on/off

some just toggle (which kinda sucks)

just like some tv's just cycle between HDMI inputs, rather than allow you to specify HDMI2 HDMI1 HDMI3 etc etc

Remotes

I have to say I absolutely love my Harmony 620 remotes (controls 11 devices) - I own two. I just purchased the Harmony 610 (only controls up to 5 devices) for my in-laws and may just get one of those for my simple TV - HD200 setup. I did do some customization on the Harmony remotes for the commands that I used most on the Sage remote.
