How to set to record in TS?

I know I ran across this sometime in the past but cannot find it now.
How do you set sage to record in ts instead of mpeg?

Mike

in sage.properties change to
mmc/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream=false

that will give you the recordings in .ts format

SageTV also recommends against using that.

HVR wrong driver installed

Thanks,
I was having trouble with my QAM tuner, and I understood that the ts format was more forgiving on intermittent signals. my shows have been locking up recently.

since posting this question I thought I would check for an updated driver for my card. In the device manager it showed it as a HVR-1550, This surprised me since I have a HVR-1250 installed. and the happpauge signal quality program would not work, it indicated that there was no hardware available. I ran a driver update from the hauppauge site and now I have the proper 1250 device showing in the device manager.
I don't know how it had changed I hadn't knowingly updated the driver perhaps a windows update did something.

So I will not do anything with the ts. and check the reception with the updated/correct driver.

Thanks again gentlemen

Transport streams are designed to better handle transmission issues, but if you're having trouble with recordings, that means the problem was already too big for the transport stream's error recovery info the handle. By the time it's inside your PC, either you've got a flawless recording or you don't.

AFAIK, the process of remuxing to MPEG-PS from MPEG-TS should apply any error correction applicable.
