EPG No Data problem

I am using 4DTV-USA as my EPG source. I have added 3 new stations and two of them show no data.

WSEE has data (CBS)
WTVJ no data (NBC)
WPLG no data (ABC)

What can I do?

Thanks,

Check the FAQs for possibilities, such as:

Some of my channels have no Program Guide data, but other channels do and their data is getting updated. Why do some channels have no data?

Or, if you manually added the channels, maybe you didn't use the correct Station ID from zap2it.

It turns out Zap2It does not contain any of the 3 channels. I have no idea where the guide data for WSEE comes from. It is only correct for network stuff, everything else is wrong.

So it seems to me that Zap2It just does not carry those channels. I have now sent an email to info@sagetv.com and hope to hear from them.

Are you sure - here is data for WTVJ from Zap2it:http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlisti...1916&channel=6

By the way - let me know how you resolve this as I am having similar issues with OTA channels from Rochester, NY. I added these channels over a month ago after doing an OTA scan. The channels should have data in Zap2it as they are the local PBS channels but for some reason I am not getting any data for them.

Forcing the guide update shouldn't be required as the guide has updated many times since then.

Please read the FAQ I posted above. If they are OTA-only, the data will not be available to SageTV.

I realize that Andy but although I am receiving these channels OTA they are not OTA only - the Rochester cable cos will carry these channels. I think the issue may be in the call signs that was given by Sage when I did the scan - perhaps this came from PSIP data? Here is what Sage thinks the call signs are versus what I see on the Zap2it website listings:

Num, Sage Chan Name, Zap2it Chan name
21-1 WXXI-HD WXXIDT
21-2 WXXI-W WXXIDT2
21-3 WXXI-C WXXIDT3

So for those channels I am guessing that I have to manually change the station ID. How do I do this as it seems that remapping stations seems to have changed in the most recent version of Sage? When I click remap station it only lets me select from stations already in my listings. Can I not manually select a station and manually enter an ID#? Couldn't you do this manually in more recent versions of Sage such as 6.5?

One other strange thing. I do have some channels that are OTA only, at least I think they are. For example Ion, Ion Life, etc. These channels do have some data in Sage but there are lots of times in the day, including primetime, when there is "No Data". But when I go to the Zap2it web listings I do see shows for the time when Sage thinks there is "No Data". I don't particularly care too much as these channels don't generally carry shows of interest to me, but you never know.

I can see that Zap2it just may not have data for OTA only channels. But shouldn't it be an all or nothing proposition.

... this is why I wrote the "Remapping Stations for EPG data using ATSC or QAM Digital Tuners" section on p. 166 of the SageTV PDF manual.

The limited EPG data would be coming from the broadcast stream, not Zap2it (also mentioned on the above-referenced manual page).

Thanks Wayner, but how did you do it? When I go to http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do and enter WTVJ nothing comes up. If I key in some of my other channels like KMGH, it works. What am I missing?

Looking at your URL I see ZCSGrid.do?stnNum, if I check it comes out:

ZCGrid.do?method=decideFwdForLineup&zipcode=93422&setMyPreference=false&lineupId=4DTV:-#215

How do you select the channel? And how do you get the stnNum and channel?
