TMT vs Sagetvclient settings
Hello,
I have noticed that the CPU usage for my computer while using sagetvclient is very high. The min value is 60% and it can hit 100%, but for the most part the CPU load is 60-70. [Processor is core 2 duo 1.8GHz] I have Arcsoft's software installed on my PC as well and when I watch a previously recorded show the CPU usage is 1%-20% max. Usually the processing power is hovering around 10%. If I open the same recorded show in sagetvclient the CPU load never goes below 60%. I have tried many different combinations in the settings but I cannot get the same results as TMT. I'm using a ATI 4670 video card. I just think this is my inexperience showing and I guess I'm asking for help in SageTV settings to achieve the same results as TMT. Any help you can give is appreciated. Thanks! |

Hi,
Yes I do have TMT set as the video decoder in Sage. I've tried using ATI's video decoder and the results do not change. I've tried the different video renderer options with TMT as the video decoder and no luck. When I'm using TMT and watching a Sage recorded show (HD show, forgot to mention that) I can get similar results as Sage if I turn off hardware acceleration. So I guess my next question is how do I ensure hardware acceleration for TMT video decoder is turned on in Sage? |

Yes! I got it to work.
I used graphedit to render the media file and show me what was happening. I was getting the same results as Sage. I went to 'Properties' for ArcSoft Video Decoder and I was able to change the settings. I select 'DXVA1.0' and the rendering then was really low as far a CPU usage. From there I used DirectShow Filter Manager to let me modify the filter settings so they matched what was in graphedit. Now I have HD shows playing in sagetvclient with CPU usage between 1% and 8%. |
