Issues recording with WinTV PVR 250's
Hello,
I have recently updated my motherboard, processor and memory to the new AMD 785g motherboard and am still using my old WinTV PVR 250's. I have 2 of them. HD works fine but that is using the HDHomeRun. The error I get after 2-5 mins of recording either live tv or doing a recording is: "The device input "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture #2 S-Video stopped producing date while recording...SageTV will try to reset the device. This may caused by a channel that is no longer available." The occurs on all the channels I try to record and on both cards. When I try this in the Hauppauge TV program it works fine. Any help would be great. Thanks. |

The PVR250 can't work with 4GB or more of system ram. You have to drop back to 3GB or less.

I thought that was just the 150 and 500.

Would changing the memory in the bios or windows xp to a lower amount work rather having to replace the physical memory? That seems to be a very bad limitation. If I had to replace the WinTV PVR 250 cards, what would be the suggested replacement?
Thanks. |

Test it and see. AFAIK people have just pulled a stick of RAM out. None of your single Windows apps will use more than 4 GB anyways. So the only limitation is if you run a ton of programs at the same time.

Partially missed recordings
I'm also having problems with Sage recordings that sounds similar to yours. Some shows will record for the full length of the recording but it's like sage looses the signal and justs records snow.
a sample of the message log is as follows: msg=The device input "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture TV Tuner" stopped producing data while recording "Stargate SG-1" on SPACEC on physical channel 47. SageTV will try to reset the device. This may be caused by a channel that is no longer available I am using a pvr 150 and a theater 550 recording standard cable. This seems to happen randomly and the show starts out recording normally. Running Windows 7 32 bit with 2 gigs ram. Recording to a Terabyte drive with lots of space. I'm new to sage and just switched from windows mce. I really like sage and hope I can figure out the problem. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

I have two Hauppaugge HVR1600's and I too get random errors like this. My wife records the soap "All My Children" (please dont hold that against me) and it seems to happen daily...some times it happens twice in a day.
another time when we were trying to record "The Biggest Loser" the error (which I erased) made it not record at all. System specs are below, but I only have 2Gigs of ram on WinXP SP3. So it is a SageTV thing or a tuner problem?
