Unhappy Where are all the PVR-250's???

Are these now obsolete? I don't see them locally, and the few places I would trust on line no longer seem to carry them.

Should they be deeply discounted, now that the 150 and 500 are available?

PCAlchemy does not have them anymore....

not really obsolete, but replaced with the 150s which i've seen for under 80 at several places online. its not a downgrade at all, just get one of them instead.

Yes I know, but I cant afford to play around to resolve the remote control issues. I don't have the time and want to keep things simple.

2 PVR-250's are a proven set, and work with the Hauppauge remote. I need an IR remote to run SAGE as I program it into my learning remote that controls my entire entertainment center. (No RF, No complex IR blaster setup and learning in sage)

If they are the PVR-250 (not MCE) retail version, (or white box) I very well may want one...or two... let me know!

remember that the 150s don't have CC...I'm not sure about the 500s. This can be important if you want to use the CC feature of comskip for enhanced commercial skipping.

To me the 150s and 500s are a DOWNGRADE. No CC data, drivers aren't a proven as they are on the 250s. The sound isn't normalized like the 250s...

I'll still take the 250s at a higher price until these issues are taken care of.

Ditto. It never fails some will always go the cheapest possible and then wonder why setup doesn't work like other setups. Long term I've never regretted going quality. And looking at it long term the importance of cost difference decreases while the satisfaction level remains higher. As far as the 500 goes at first I was really interested in them but another thing I don't like about it is the internal signal splitter and corresponding signal loss. Not necessarily a problem, but can be.

You've got to split it somewhere though

Agreed. However, if I have control of the split I can both use a high quality professional grade splitter (which I am) AND if 500 had independent inputs could use different input sources.

I thought I read over at SHSPVR that the 150's (and thus I'm assuming the 500's) support CC (?)

Ditto. I have 3 250's and am getting drastically different sound levels from them. I'd like to find a way to get them all at the same level.
