Taking the IR blaster away from 2250's control and back to my HD-PVR - How?
Anyone know how to "regain the high ground" and take the blaster port control away from the 2250 and force it back under the HD-PVR's control?
Thanks for any help.

AFAIK you can't. Happague's software has no control over which device will use the IR receiver/blaster. Unless you can manipulate the Device ID that Windows reports for the devices.

I recommend not using the hauppauge IR devices included with the 2250 and HD-PVR. Instead use the USB-UIRT to control up to 3 devices.

You can use a registry change to tell it to prefer one tuner type; see this post & use the USB setting.
You may still be better off using a USB-UIRT or, better yet: firewire, if available. - Andy

Thanks to all for the help. I am going the USB-UIRT route. Sounds like one of the most trouble-free ways to do things, and I don't think I would need more than 3 blasters ever !!!!
