Registering
Despite the problems i get with sage i took the plunge and purchased a licence hoping it will get better, but now i cant seem to register the software properly.
I purchased "SageTV Media Center for Windows with MediaMVP Client License Combo" as this is what i read on the forums that i need for WHS Server plus Client running on another PC The email arrived with: SageTV License Key: MY NAME KEY-NUMBER-HERE SageTV Media Extender License Key: DIFFERENT-KEY-NUMBER-HERE I ordered a key for "SageTV Media Center" and "Client" didnt I ? Neither say "Media Center" or "Client" I enter The "SageTV License Key" in the window on WHS as this asked for my name too and the second key had no name. Then it asked for "Media Extender" key, so i entered that. WHS says its now regsistered, but the Client PC is asking for a Key aswell, as it also wants a name i entered the "SageTV License Key", but it says its invalid. What key do i enter for my Client PC? I tried unregistering on WHS, the "Media Extender" key said unregistered so i then tried that on the Client with and without my name, no luck. i then tried unregistering the "SageTV License Key" from WHS but it does nothing. I rebooted both systems after each try and shut down sage +services on both systems? Can anyone help please Thanks |

Unfortunately, you ordered the wrong product; you have Media Extender licence which works with either a MediaMVP or Placeshifter, but NOT SageTV Client. You need to contact support and explain to them your error.
It should be noted that Placeshifter and Client have many similar features; the differences can be found here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...290#post206290 HTH, Stu |

What you said you purchased, "SageTV Media Center for Windows with MediaMVP Client License Combo", is a server license + an extender license for a Hauppauge MediaMVP (can also be used for Placeshifter).
This one is a license for SageTV Client on Windows. - Andy
