Problem registering Media Extender

When i enter the key that was mailed to me, the registration utility says registration was successfule but also that i have 0 valid media extender licenses. The "Trial" dispaly also shows across my screen.

What's wrong here?

Did you shut down the Sage server before entering your key?

Yes, I stopped the service

How did you stop the service? Did you use the SageTV tool or just kill the process? The usual cause of this problem is that SageTV is still running, so double check that it isn't running when the license is registered.

The extender section of the SageTV PDF manual covers how to register the license. If that doesn't work, then you should check w/tech support.

I was able to register the HD1000 and the server OK (i didn't have a valid server license due to my ignorance). BUT, the HD1000 still shows TRIAL all over the screen. This is driving me crazy. I turned it off via the rear switch and then back on but TRIAL still appears randomly.

If i remove the server software and reinstall it, how do i keep my current settings?

yes, nothign was running on the server.

ok-i got it working. i uninstalled and reinstalled the key and i don't think the service was really stopped when i entered the key the first time.
