Media Externder cannot find Sage Server

I have recently changed my computer system to a Dell PWS 690 with dual Xeon dual 2.66 core processors, 4 Gbyte of memory, Hauppauge hvr-1800 capture card, and a Sage (Hauppauge) media extender. On my previous system, Sage TV ver 5 worked just fine with the media extender and its license key code. The media extender had no problem in finding the Sage server. The media extender connects to my Linksys router (4 switch ports) which in turn connects to the computer.

I am now running Sage TV ver 6.2 on the new computer, and the media extender cannot find the Sage server. I applied my previous media extender license code and it said it was accepted as a valid code. Do I need a unique code for SageTV version 6.2? The boot preamble starts and then ends with a grey screen. In contrast, the Hauppauge application when enabled can find the Hauppauge application. The Hauppauge application has been totally removed from the system to avoid any conflict.

Any suggestions as to why the media extender cannot find the Sage server?

Charles

restart the Sage service. for some reason, when I had issues finding the server, restarting the service always seems to fix it.
