HD extender with Harmony 890
I have a sage tv hd extender that I am trying to control with a Harmony 890. After trying both the pre-programmed setting and programming the remote myself I am still having problems with the remote sending multiple commands. I did adjust the sensitivity setting of the harmony to 0 but the problem still persists. The extender remote seems to work fine except it is IR and I need an RF remote.
Has anyone else had these issues? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks, Rian |

I have a Harmony Remote One, and it works great. Can you be more specific about your problem? What doesn't work? Does it control the HD200 properly if you set the remote to device, rather than activity? What device did you choose in the remote software for the Sage - the "Sage TVSTP-HD200", or a different MCE remote?

Actually it is the same problem as this thread http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41339 but I see there is no solution there either. Basically when I press a direction it will send 2-3 of the direction commands.

I have a 890 and had similar problems in general with multiple commands. I found that signals from the other emitters were bouncing around and getting to the HD 200 or my USB UIRT. So I put one of those black rubber boots over the emiter on the HD200 so that only that emitter would be seen by the HD200. I believe that solved my problem.

Interesting, I am not using the individual emitters and just using the main emitter. My setup really doesn't lend itself to the individual emitters.

The 890 remote itself is also sending the IR codes. Hold your hand over the end of the remote and send commands. If the problems stops then you only need to use the rubber boots on the HD200 to block out the extra signals.
Have you tried relearning the HD200 IR commands to the 890 from the original remote? Sometimes the IR commands in the Logitech database are not perfect.

Sorry - I just noticed you are not using the emitters so holding your hand over the 890 would block the only IR signal to the HD200.
I would try relearning the IR commands to the remote.

Thanks for the troubleshooting help. I tried relearning the commands as well. Moving the RF extender really close to the remote seems to make it work. I think there is a problem with the RF on the Logitech. I am going to try to work out the problems with Logitech.

There is a setting in the remote software for higher power RF you might try.
