mplayer opens in new window in Linux
I tried running placeshifter in linux (Ubuntu 9.04 64bit) and whenever I start watching TV or start a video mplayer is opened in a separate window. The only things in the log that look interesting are
Code:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/spectrum/tmp/miniclient/libjtux.so: /home/spectrum/tmp/miniclient/libjtux.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 (Possible cause: architecture word width mismatch) ERROR loading native lib for UI:java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/spectrum/tmp/miniclient/libSage.so: /home/spectrum/tmp/miniclient/libSage.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 (Possible cause: architecture word width mismatch) Is this what is causing the problem, and if so, would it be possible to get a version that has been compiled for 64 bit? It is really quite annoying to have the controls in a separate window that the actual video! Attached are the miniclient.log and a screenshot of the actual behaviour. |

Unfortunately SageTV does not support 64-bit Linux natively. Some people have been able to get it to work with 32-bit compatibility. Search the forums for 64-bit Linux, there's a thread just about that. I haven't done it myself so I can't offer much advice.

Sad that the devs are not embracing 64 bit; Sage will be left out in the cold as that is the way the industry is moving. That aside, I couldn't find anything (yes I searched before I made the original post) regarding *placeshifter* and linux.

Here's another thread about 64-bit Placeshifter with a couple of suggestions. Maybe this will solve your problem? I'll be interested to know if you get it working. I have a 64-bit installation of Ubuntu I wouldn't mind installing Placeshifter on.
