Strange issue with VirtualStore

I have SageTV with SageMC installed on a Windows Vista machine. When I installed Sage, I THINK UAC was turned off. Now, UAC is on.

Whenever I reboot my computer, Sage seems to start from a different directory. Basically, sometimes it uses the wiz.bin file in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV, sometimes it uses the wiz.bin file in C:\Users\Jeff\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV

This basically means any time I make a change to settings or something, it reverts when I restart. Also, any recordings that are made no longer show up under My TV Recordings, but now they show up under My Videos, with incredibly long file names and no details about the recordings.

Is this something that can be fixed by uninstalling Sage completely and reinstalling from scratch, with UAC turned on all the time? I'm also willing to turn UAC off completely if that would help . . . . .

Any ideas? Anyone seen this before?

It's probably based on how you're running Sage - as an Admin or as a regular user. UAC protects the "program files" folders. One solution to this that I use is to install Sage to a different location. I use "C:\MyApps\SagetTV" and haven't had any problems with UAC.

Uninstall SageTV completely. Delete the virtualstore directory. Turn off UAC. (and keep it off. Change the way security alerts you to stop the nagging). Reboot and then install SageTV. The other choice is leave UAC on and give your ID all permissions to the Program Files\SageTV directory.
