Return to playing video

Is there a command that will return me to an actively playing video. Example:
I'm watching a recorded TV show. I notice the audio is out of sync so I change the setting or I want to check the weather in SageTV. Once I'm finished I'm left with no alternative but to go find the video again and choose to play it. It then has to rebuffer as it's sent from my WHS to my client. Is there a button / command / plugin that would return me to my actively playing video.
Edit: Using 6.5.9 until I upgrade it sometime in the next few days. (Don't want to kill the webUI plugin)

I use the default STV and I go to main menu ...weather... check the guide while playing a video it simply pauses. Then I hit back....back till it returns to the video and resumes.

In addition to simply using the Back command, the "TV" command (not to be confused with the "Live TV" command) will toggle between the playback screen and the last-used menu.

When I press back until it doesn't do that, I end up at the main menu. If i'm watching a video and back all the way out, pressing forwards does eventually return me to the video. However this wouldn't work if I change which path I took in the menu tree.

EDIT: Also I have the video always playing as the background.
