EPG Stops recording too soon

Hi,

I'm still trying to get some parts of SageTV to work

The current problem I'm having is that EPG programmes stop recording too soon, maybe 5 minutes before the end of the program

Which is frustrating

I've checked the system clock and SageTV is set to pull it's time from the server

I'm happy to let the recording over-run (2Tb free disk space) but can't find a setting anywhere 'EPG Record time over-run ... 5 minutes' kind of thing

HALP!

Ah I've found the option once I've set a TV program to record to add 15 minutes to the end..

.. but I want this to be the default, and 5 or 10 minutes, 15 is a bit excessive

Thanks

You can set the stop padding per favorite, but I'm not sure of a default padding for ALL programs option.

The default STV's hidden features has default padding settings for new Favorites and Manual Recordings. It won't pad Intelligent Recordings, but if you see an IR you want in the schedule, just turn it into an MR to have it padded.

yes, this works for any NEW favorites you set up, but you would still ahve to go through all your existing favs and add the padding time there. Would be nice if there was a default padding setting, and favorites defaulted to 'not set' like the quality controls. This could be overridden to 0, but default would be Not Set, which would use the global setting.

SageMC lets you do this, you set the recording options as you want them and then use Set Defaults and any other series set to record after this will use those defaults. You can also set default padding for one off manual recordings.
