audio stops recording after an hour
Recently my sagetv has had a problem recording audio. I will start watching a show and recording it, and everything will be fine until I have been watching for about an hour. The time varies, but at some point the audio will stop recording. The audio will still work in other programs, and it even works on other, previously recorded shows in sagetv, but I can't get audio on any new shows I record and/or watch until I re-boot the system.
Re-starting sagetv does not fix the problem. Re-booting the entire system does fix the problem (at least temporarily). I have checked with windows media player and the audio actually stops recording. I have been using sagetv on the same computer for years. It is an XP system running sagetv V2.2.7 I had not changed hardware or updated any configuration settings prior to the start of the problems. I have updated settings since the probelms started, but nothing I have tried seems to work. Any ideas? |

update: the new software is even worse
Update to my audio problem. After downloading the new software I can watch about 20 minutes before the sound goes out
and... sometimes the sound is garbled as soon as I start and... sometimes playback stops, sagetv returns to the main menu, and the system locks up and... sometimes the menus on sagetv fade in and out as I move the mouse over them (going from visible to invisible) |

Not a heat issue
I don't think it is a heat issue. I am running a test right now with different software to see if the audio stops recording. It is not a definitive test in that if it doesn't fail it won't prove anything. But, if it does fail that will lead me to believe the problem is not with sagetv. I haven't had any other problems with the system, but then we don't use it for anything but light web-surfing and sagetv.
