Aspect Ratio: Players?

This is purely idle curiosity - bc I've got everything working fine now.

Having said that....

Just got a 19" Vizio TV for the wife (VA19LHDTV10T, $197 at Target).

Went through setup at least a half dozen times. TV and the VCR input were fine all the time.

But when the HD200 was feeding it, the aspect ratio wasn't right. Not grossly off - like 4:3 stretched to 16:9, but enough to be noticed.

But finally, after the last trip through Setup, it was a-ok.

What's bothering me is that I'd bet a week's pay that the settings it's running a-ok on right now were the settings several times during my half-dozen iterations of Setup.

So, bottom line: Are there any other players here besides Setup's circle adjustment and the resolution?

Could there be some automatic process at work?

Did you happen to update the firmware right before you resolved the problem? I had some aspect ratio problems with earlier beta firmwares, but I think they've all been resolved now.

No - it never occurred to me, although now that you mention it; if I were to create a checklist for setting up a new HD200/TV Combination, refreshing the HD200's firmware should probably be the first step.
