Adding channel lineups to sageTV

Is an xmltv plugin the only tool in the sagetv customisers toolbox for getting a channel lineup into SageTV.

I have been looking at the SageTV API and can see ways of adding a channel and specifying a channel lineup for a device...

... but no way of saying here is a new lineup.

But there must be an API way of specifying a lineup - surely the XMLTV plugins do this?

I didn't have that little useful snippit.

I already have that property epg_import_plugin specifying an XMLTV import plugin which I would not want to change

Can you only specify one plugin in the properties?

Is there any way of getting the object that implements the EPGDBPublic so I can call it without needing to implement EPGImportPlugin, replace my existing value of that property and wait to be given the EPGDBPublic callback object?
