I've noticed when I set start/stop padding for series recordings, the padding doesn't seem to actually be applied when the show records. The most obvious culprit for this is American Idol, as they regularly go 3-5 minutes late. In the series settings, I have it set to begin 3 minutes early and stop 7 minutes after the end. But when I play the recording later, I see that it started only 1 minute before and ended just 1 minute after. I've tried changing the default series setting for padding, but that didn't make a difference either.
Any ideas? I guess I could try to deleting AI and making a new series recording entry for it. I also haven't really tested any of my other shows...none of them go late like AI does, so I just haven't noticed. |

Don't jump to conclusions. Although the display says it only recorded the normal show time, it probably recorded your extra few minutes at the beginning and end. You need to actually play it to the end to see if it padded correctly or not.

I have watched it, and indeed, the video stops after 1 minute after.

Update:
I tested a couple other shows, and sure enough, they are all doing 1 minute before/1 minute after no matter what I manually set their padding to. Weird. |
