SageTV Linux and HVR-1800

Does anyone have SageTV working with the Hauppage HVR-1800 and analog cable under Linux?

MythTV works great with the 1800 as long as you don't need analog cable (which I do of course). I'd much rather run Linux but since there is no linux demo of SageTV I can't test before I buy and I'm not about to shell out money for something I can't verify works.

I did find a few threads about this but in every case the person saying they were going to test this never reported back.

Steven Toth and HVR-1800

I just stumbled on this post, so I thought that I would report my findings.
ATSC works, NTSC does not. So I asked one of the primary developers about possibility of support. He reports that it would take about 20 hours of work to get preliminary analog. I thought about trying to start a drive to help support Steven's effort. If we (SageTV HVR users) all put in some cash, I bet that would motivate him to get it done faster. Couple in MythTV HVR users and we may even get the HVR-2250 fully supported.

Thoughts (if anyone reads this)?

I think he set up donations on his blog for this purpose. Personally, I am more inclined to go for 2250 as I don't have either as of this moment.

100% agree, if you run 2 cards/4 tuners, it is better to have 4 hybrid than 2:2 ATSC:NTSC IMHO; although cost is commensurate with capability (Egg has 1800 at ~$70 and 2250 at ~$130).

I would be interested to know how many people would be willing to fund/support/actively participate in the effort....
