Unhappy The Time Is An Hour Off!

I had to do a reinstall but I can't seem to lick this last problem. I have searched and, yes, I do have the latest Java and I do have my computer set to adjust for Daylight Savings Time and I do have Sage set to sync with the EPG Server. But the time is still off by exactly one hour. What am I missing?

Did you reinstall Windows too? If so, did you do the DST update from Microsoft?

I did have to reinstall WHS. However, my server has the correct time down in the taskbar - e.g., it will say 7:32 p.m. but when I open Sage Sage says 8:32 p.m.

What version of Java? Older versions of java also had the DST issue.

I am having the exact same issue...... kinda

I had Sage up and running (6.5.8).. Everything with OK..
Moved from California (PDT) to Texas (CDT).. Sage keeps setting its clock to EDT.....
I installed 6.5.12, had same issue and a tuner issue, so I uninstalled and installed 6.5.9
contacted support and they had me check the time_zone prop in sage.properties, it was blank. I erased the line and same thing happened.. I emailed support back and have not yet recieved a response

The only way Ive found around it is to set Sage and Windows NOT to update the time and keep my system clock an hr slow...

Hopefully someone has an answer for this.........

Same Problem

I've just started experiencing the same problem. Has no one else dealt with this since April?

My server has the correct time, so I believe this is a Sage problem- especially since it appears to be common.

Is there a way to manually set the time in SageTV until there's a patch available?

Question SageTV is 1 hr later than server time

My wife has made it painfully obvious that SageTV is 1 hr later than my server's time. According to what I read, SageTV gets the time from the server and doesn't have a "daylight savings time" feature.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Joe.

In most instances users will find that they haven't kept up with the necessary updates, patches, etc for daylight savings times. Search the forum or google but there are updates for java, microsoft, etc. Just being up to date with service packs is not enough. If you're running the lastest java that should be OK. In some instances the issue isn't corrected with the updates and there are various editing programs like tzedit that will also help to correct it. The proper way in being up to date and installing all the microsoft daylight savings patches. I'm pretty sure this info is in a sticky somewhere also. There will probably be another big influx of questions, complaints, etc coming again during the time change on Sunday (it happens every time change) so you may as well make sure everything is up to date.

incase anyone is still having problem with this, in your Sage.properties file
change time_zone=<your time zone> and you should be fine. Make sure you stop the service/server before making this change.
in my case it had time_zone=SystemV/EST5EDT and i changed it to time_zone=EST5EDT. I have a felling come spring or when ever the DST changes again i might have to put that back...
