HD100 Remote control TV?

Is it possible for me to change the power button to turn off my visio tv?

So when I hit power on the remote, it turns the tv off, not the sage unit?

thanks

Sorry, but no. The buttons are not programmable. See this post.

You'd be better off getting a universal TV remote that can be programed to control the HD-100. Harmony is nice but can get expensive, same with some of the higher URC remotes.

However if you want something cheaper most of the All-for-One remotes will control just about anything and with a little tweaking can be set up the way you want.

Probably. Make sure that they have programmable TV power and volume buttons. The HP Vista MCE remote that came with my Vista PC will not control my TV but my old MCE Remote from XP media center does work with my TV and the HD200 ( after learning the commands in SageTV on the extender).

If your Vizio remote has a separate programmable DVR, DVD player etc settings you may be able to map it's output to work with SageTV. Here's how to do it. My old Vizio remote didn't have any programmable buttons but my Sony will control DVD players, sattelite boxes etc. I just haven't taken the time to set it up.
