Re-Recording a Favorite that was 'bad' recording

I *know* this has to have been asked before, probably many times before... But I'll be darned if I can come up with the right search words.

Totally my fault, I had enabled a channel that I could not receive, it was pure static.

One of my Favorites scheduled a recording from this channel and I didn't catch it until after the fact. I've since disabled that channel. I also made certain that recording was NOT marked watched, and I did the "just delete it" deletion of the recording, with no information such as "don't like".

So here's my question: Will SageTV re-record this episode, if/when it should appear again? (My favorite is set for first runs and re-runs.)

Is there anything else I need to do, to ensure SageTV will record this episode, if it shows up again?

As long as the fav is set to record both first runs and reruns then you should be fine.

I even went to the FAQ first, before posting, and I did not see that entry :-( I did see the first question and read it (does SageTV record a show only once), and stupidly did not see there was another question in the same post. Apologies.

I do have a question, after reading that second question: "... or if it does not have a unique showid"... this part I'm not sure of. How do I determine if this is factor?

I also have SageTV set to attempt to detect non-unique repeat airings, will that intefere with re-recording the show?

I modified the 1st question in that FAQ entry to include "The Show ID can be seen on the detailed information screen for a recording or airing." It is probably not a factor for most prime time series, and is not an issue if each episode has a different text description.

Only if the airing is marked as something like Watched.
