HD-200 - Use static IP?

Is there any reason to assign a static IP to an HD-200 rather than using DHCP? For my PCs I always like to have static IPs, which is required if you are doing any port forwarding. But I have not been using static IPs for my HD-200s and I am wondering if there is any benefit in doing so?

Not really. Whenever the IP tries to renew when the lease is up it is going to try and keep the same IP. Usually the only time it will grab something different is when you power down your router which has your DHCP server AND the lease is up around the same time. Other than the server which I assigned a static IP all of my clients are DHCP. Even if the IP changed on the clients it wouldn't matter. (Unless you have some other use for them which requires the same IP.)
