PlaybackException Error x8007007e
Hello - I'm getting a sage.PlaybackException:Error (-3,0) x8007007e): There was a problem accessing the filesystem for playback. I can't watch live TV or playback sage recordings on one of my Sage clients. I have the latest version of Java with Win XP Home on an old laptop computer. I've tried setting the decoder settings to Default and the problem won't go away. But, everything plays fine on my Windows media player 9.
Any ideas? Thanks, Mike |

So, is this a problem that just popped up in this client, but it was working before? Or, are you trying to set up SageTV Client on this machine for the first time?

It was working before but that was when I was using the laptop with placeshifter. It worked for a very short time in SageTVClient (like 5 or 10 minutes) and I made a few changes including adding NVidia Decoders. I'm thinking maybe I should try removing the Nvidia decoders and see if that helps. I get the error right now no matter what decoder I use. It is terribly frustrating. I wish Sage would just "do the same thing and play it the same way" as Windows Media Player because I have no problem with WMP.

I tried uninstalling the NVidia decoders and still the same error. What do I need to do to fix this?

Make sure there are no issues with the client firewall. Or the server firewall for that matter.
Are you using UNC paths for accessing the files? Have you made certain that the account you are using on the client has access to the folder share?

Have you tried turning on logging and looking for any informative error messages in there?

I'll check the firewall again (I think I already tried disabling it). I'm using UNC paths - I copied the sage client properties from another working client.
How do I turn on the logging? Thanks, Mike |

I am having the same problem. Everything has been working, now I get the same error when trying to play my ripped dvd's. My videos seem to work on the same hard drive. I'm using a mapped drive. I couldn't get unc to work with comskip
. (the problem is my client machine) Is there a way to use your local hard drive folders on my client machine for playing video's? When I try to choose my f drive it keeps saying an invalid directory. It looks like my server directories and not my local directories when I try to set up video folders. |

Everything is done from the server perspective. You could share your local client drive and define it as a UNC import path on the server.

I'm still having the problem with Sage mpeg 2 recordings. I'm not sure what to do. It only happens on my laptop client.

I'm still stuck as to why this laptop gives a playback exception. It is running XP home edition. Are there any products I might be able to install or codecs or something to stop this error?
Thanks, Mike |
