PlaybackException ERROR on upgrade to 6.0

Hey all,

Just did an upgrade to 6.0 from 5 and things have not gone well. When trying to watch either recordings or live TV, I am getting this error.

PlaybackException ERROR (-4,0x0): There was a problem rendering the video portion for playback.

My system is Windows XP Pro, 1Gb RAM with an ATI Radeon 7500 card.

I have tried switching video renderer from Overlay to VMR9 to Default, with the same result.

I have tried swithing from FFDShow to Default, to Intervideo and Sage codecs all with the same result.

I have tried updating the driver for my video card to the latest -- same result.

I have turned 3D acceleration off - same result.

I have rebooted my system several times. I have rebooted Sage after making the changes to the codecs and video renderers.

Looking for any suggestions on how to fix. Right now, I am unable to watch TV or my recordings. If I was to do a complete new installation, I assume I want to keep just the Wiz.bin and Sage.properties files in order for my recordings and favorites --is there anything else I would need to keep???

Note that I also tried to disable all Hardware Acceleration on my video card and still get the same result.

I'm not an expert but sounds like similar problem some have had with stuttering. Might want to check out those threads. Could also run the DecCheck utility to set the default decoder then set Sage to Default to use it.

Nope, that should do it

If you're having trouble and no-one here can help, you should raise a bug report, Sage will help.
