SageTV @ CES mentioned at Ars Technica

http://arstechnica.com/journals/hard...es-as-back-end

According to article HD200 connects and can play Hulu directly. I am just glad they didn't put there some screenshots of the standard GUI since next to the Nextgear ones it may not look that good

Confirmed - Hulu + HD200

I just confirmed with a very reliable source @ CES. SageTV HD200 Plus Hulu is happening - VERY good news indeed. I expected Netflix Watch Now before Hulu but I think Hulu is even better really...

I'm waiting for more details. At the moment all I know is Hulu & the HD200 are happening. Obviously you can already get Hulu on the HD200 with Playon but I'm assuming (and hoping) that this is something beyond that. I'll share the second I know more.

How about Hulu on HD100?

Very cool. I wonder what kind of agreement they have with Hulu? Is it some type direct partnership or is it like Boxee where they're just using the Hulu's flash player directly. Either way it's great news.

This is very cool. And, like Brent, I think this is actually better than getting Netflix support.

Sweet! Especially since Naruto Shippuden will be available on Hulu 1 week after airing in Japan starting on Jan. 15th.

For the full scoop on Hulu with SageTV, check out this from ZatzNotFunny! Dave Zatz is at CES so I tipped him off about the hulu stuff & he headed over to SageTV's suite to check it out for us. Matter of fact, if you're interested in the scoop on other CES stuff Dave is working tirelessly at CES this year - stay tuned to his Twitter feed and Blog posts

I'll have my thoughts and a few more things on GeekTonic will be posted later tonight that will answer more of the questions asked in this thread.

So Sage has their own booth this year? Previously they had a stand in Hauppauge's booth, or last year, they just had some stuff there...

So.. that looks like the standard Sage Online UI; I'm hoping that means it will work with not only the HD extenders but with the MediaMVP's as well...

Nope - they have a private suite. But accessible. Getting on the floor is pretty expensive so they're probably trying to get plenty of exposure just by being in the neighborhood and still keeping the overhead low.

I'll attempt to address that and a few other questions in my post on GeekTonic. It will be up at 2am Central time - so when you wake up check it out.

Check out the third picture on the ZatzNotFunny post. It shows the HD200 connected to the TV set and on the screen is a decent search screeen. It won't take much to make the interface easier to use and look at then the Playon interface I've been using with the HD200.

Well that's sort of what I meant, ever other year they piggybacked on someone else's space. I find it good/encouraging that they have their own, hopefully that means they'll get a bit more attention.

Is that a new CES award or their 2006 one?

I wish they had at least hinted at this earlier. I wouldn't have bought Playon.

Anyway, this is great news. A standalone Hulu box would be amazingly cool. Go to any gaming/tech/gadget forum and you'll find that just about everyone loves hulu.

Hi Brent, would you be able to get more detail on Sage's location at CES? I am heading there in a few hours and would like to stop by and say hi. I'm not clear if they are somewhere in the convention center or another hotel. For example, I know Viewsonic sets up at the Belagio. Thanks!!
