SageTV at CES January 2009?
Will SageTV have a presence at CES next month? I think they've shared a booth with Hauppauge in the past and just wondering...

I just looked back at the post regarding CES 2008. No one (Sage or not) ever replied to that one - were they there last year?

That would be great if they had a presence there, I would love to pick thier brains on native netflix hd200 support and enterprise class deployments with near real time delivery.

It doesn't look good. I find Hauppauge in the exhibitor directory but no results for Sage, Sage TV, Frey, Frey Technologies.
Below is the exhibitor link: http://www.cesweb.org/exhibitorDirectory/default.asp |

In years past, Sage shared the Hauppauge booth and since they are probably the number one software that supports the HDPVR, I could definately see them being there again this year....but thats pure speculation and we would need Jeff and the others to verify.

I wouldn't blame any company for not going this year after all times are harsh in the economy and businesses can no longer afford to splash out $$$$ on lavish trade shows and their associated expenses.
Well if any of you recall The Buggles and Video Killed The Radio Star then maybe should all check out by watching Internet Killed The Video Star after all this where we are move to. Last edited by SHS; 12-19-2008 at 08:15 AM. |

As a member of IT for one of the top Gift/Holiday decor vendors in the US, I have to disagree. Attending these shows is CRUCIAL to the success of most companies. Although most people think these shows are simply to "see whats new out there", its the 5% or so of people attending that are third party retail stores looking for new and popular devices and software to pull people into their stores vs the competitors. If your hardware is not present at these shows, you miss out. In an economy like this, its even more crucial. You need to be where the money is ALWAYS. I travel to shows and offer support to our reps in NY, GA, IL, WA, TX, MN and now vegas too. The past two years the attendance has been down, but you have to keep going. Ya here me.. lol
