Channel mapping, recording from two tuners

Hallo,

Forgive me but I don't speak German very well. Replies in German are okay.

In July 2007 I tried installing a SageTV server in NRW so that we could watch German TV, especially Kinderschau, from the US. Unfortunately I never got it to work due to some DVB-T frequency problems (see http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26533). It's now working and a channel scan finds 25 channels.

I have a new problem though. I don't understand how to map the channels in SageTV and because of this, I think that some of the channels don't show any guide data. I had some tvtv guide data for awhile, but now it's all gone. I do have a paid tvtv account in good standing until 7/2009.

How do I map the channels in Sage TV? For example, both Phoenix and ARTE map to channel 14 (I have two channel 14). SageTV thinks that SWR and Eurosport are both on channel 20, but it only shows Eurosport (I have two channel 20 Eurosport). I have two WDR on channel 24 (one Dortmund, one Essen). And most importantly, I have no ZDF. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for all suggestions. I leave for US Jan. 6, 2009 so I only have a few more days to sort this out. Thanks for all your help!

Ich halte die Daumen gedrückt! (I really think it would be cool if I could get this working!)

(my system details didn't show up but I have a Dell OptiplexGX240, 512MB RAM, Pinnacle PCTV DVB-T PCI and SageTV 6.4.8)

Channel mapping, recording from two tuners

I'm trying to set up a SageTV server in Germany for placeshifting to the US. I've posted to the SageTV Germany board but some of my questions might be more common in nature, so I'm trying here too. I have 6.4.8 with a dual-tuner PCI card that tunes DVB-T (terrestrial digital signal similar to ATSC).

A channel scan of our DVB-T source finds 25 channels, but I don't understand how to map the channels in SageTV and because of this, I think that some of the channels don't show any guide data. I had some tvtv guide data for awhile, but now it's all gone. I do have a paid tvtv account in good standing until 7/2009. How do I map these German channels in Sage TV? For example, both Phoenix and ARTE map to channel 14 (I have two channel 14). I have two WDR on channel 24 (one Dortmund, one Essen, two different local programs). Any ideas?

Also, I have two tuners. How do I tell SageTV which tuner to use? (On my TiVo in the US it's automatic and on my DishNetwork I can select the tuner—can't figure it out on SageTV with the dual-tuner DVB-T card.)

(my system details didn't show up but I have a Dell OptiplexGX240, 512MB RAM, Pinnacle PCTV DVB-T PCI and SageTV 6.4.8)

Thanks in advance for all suggestions. I leave for US Jan. 6, 2009 so I only have a few more days to sort this out.

EPG and tuning problem solved!

In my final moments of desperation (I leave Germany for US in two days!), I decided to cofigure Sage 6.5.6 without tvtv EPG and it works! Program guide data must come over the air from the DVB-T source for almost all channels and, most importantly to me, ZDF is now tuning properly! Only CNN International, Viva, Tele 5 and Eurosport are missing EPG data.

I am very happy and will order Sage and HD200 extender soon!
