Once recording starts, can not change tuner even if you delete recording
I had a strange situation occur today, first time it ever happened (but I can see me doing this again during football season).
Config is as follows:
HD-PVR with STB and USB-UIRT set up as highest priority tuner.
HDHR, Hauppauge 1800 and Hauppauge 150 as 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Channel 102 is HD and is available on the HD-PVR and the HDHR, although at a much lower resolution on the HDHR.
Set channel 102 to record a game at 4PM...
Started watching channel 102 early to see some of the 1PM in time delay, and it went to the HD-PVR as always. At 4PM, Sage began recording the game via the HDHR (presumable since I was watching the HD-PVR it went to the next available tuner). When I discovered it recording the game via the HDHR I wanted to force it back to the HD-PVR.
Nothing would work! I tried cancelling and deleting the recording, but whenever I would set it to record again it always went back to the HDHR. Even powered down the extender, started and stopped the service with the HDHR unplugged and it STILL tried to go to the HDHR and froze Sage. It seems that once you start a recording on a tuner it will finish it there no matter what you do.
I eventually set it to record a movie on Starz, and used the STB remote to select channel 102 to get the resolution I wanted.
Any ideas? In the meantime I'll set an alarm to stop watching a game at 3:55 so I don't screw things up again.
