Playback Error
I recently purchased the hd 200 and I loved it. It worked great for 4 weeks, but now whenever I try to play anything (recordings, movies, mp3) it gives me this message "There was a Playback Error in playback. Details: sage.PlaybackException"
I know that all the connections are sound because it detects my server and enters extender mode. I can browse everything on my server, I just can't play anything. I've upgraded to the latest firmware for the extender and the latest version of SageTV for my server (Windows XP SP3, Intel Core2Duo 2.6 ghz, 2gb ram). I've restarted the server computer and the hd 200 and pulled out and reconnected all the connections and no dice. What's crazy is that it was working fine for 4 weeks and now it doesn't and nothing has changed. I also have a client computer that is connected via ethernet cable and it plays back everything fine. What is going on? Anybody know? |

I had the same problem this morning. What was really weird is that I was watching a recording fine, stopped it and deleted it, started playback of some music and walked away from the TV. When I came back after the music had finished playing (4 songs or so), I tried to begin watching a football game that I had scheduled to record. That is when I received the playback exception error. After which, nothing at all would playback.
I tried restarting the HD200. I tried restarting the SageTV service on the server. I tried playing back a video via uPnP in standalone mode. Finally, I tried installing the latest beta firmware and I've got playback working again. Enter "2382" on the firmware screen if you're interested in trying it yourself. I'm not sure what that was about. |

Btw, in case someone more knowledgeable can glean something from this info, the log file had the following:

Power cycling your hd200(i.e. unplugging it and plugging it back in) should also correct the issue. I've had this happen several times after attempting to play files the hd200 didn't like. Hopefully the beta fixes the problem, however I'm waiting to hear how it's working for others before loading it up on my hd200's.

Thank you for the replies. I unplugged and replugged the hd200 a couple times in a row and it worked! I'm not sure why the error happened...maybe I tried to play a music format it didn't like.
I was going to upgrade to beta, but I think I'll wait as well. |
