Playback Error

Running Vista with Haupaugge MCE 150 installed the latests sage but when I try and view Live tv or configure video i am getting the following error message:

There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException:ERROR (-4.0x80040217): There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback.


Any suggestions????

Welcome to the SageTV forums.

The Error -4 message is shown whenever there is a problem in "playing" the file.

More information is needed regarding your setup and video decoders.

Have you tried changing the renderer(overlay or default) or decoder in the Setup / Detail/ Video?

When initially setting up SageTV did the setup wizzard manage to show any video?

I also get this problem, but only playing .mp4 files.

I have set the properties file to the always_use_dshow_player = true.
try adding this property to your properties file.

Sage plays my avi's , mpg and DVDs ok now. (DVD playback is still a touch flakey).

It's odd because I was having a problem a while back playing any files except mp4. (A full reinstall revealed that a corrupted ac3filter was the problem).

I have Matrooska splitter, ffdshow audio and video enabled, along with reclock.
If I play through WMplayer it plays fine, and I had assumed that using the dshow filters property setting, sage would pick up the same filters.
