Play mythtv recordings on extender

I have a hauppauge pvr-250 on mythtv and want to play the recordings on the sage hd100 or hd200. They won't play the files either vi upnp or via import. I presume they are incompatible.

Is anyone aware of a method to transcode them to a compatible format?

Or even better a way to add a plug-in to sagetv so that it would play them?

Eventually I'd like to switch to completely sage, but its not stable enough yet because hd-pvr is too new and so are the hd100 and hd200.

If they were recorded from a pvr-250 they should be an mpeg2 file. The card has a hardware encoder that would write out the mpeg2 file. So unless Myth does something to them I would of thought they would just play. Can you play them in Windows Media player?

They won't play in the stock media player on XP. They do play under mplayer on linux.

Could be a bug with mythtv or ivtv, the install is about a year old.
