My system is possessed!!

Ok, I'll be sitting there watching a program Live and then all of the sudden the progress bar and show info pops up, like someone pressed "display". So I press the display button and it clears it, and then like 5 minutes later, it pops up again. And it won't clear unless I hit the display button. At first I thought it was my remote sending signals and the UIRT was picking it up, but then it happened again in the bedroom upstairs and that setup has a streamzap setup on it and not a UIRT. The server downstairs has a UIRT on it, but that is to control 2 cable boxes. So how is it that my clients are randomly displaying this info on 2 completely different boxes? I doubt it could be a wireless signal interferance issue as the 2 clients use completely different remote receiver boxes. So this has to be coming from the server, right?

testing

I think tonight I am going to take out the IR and keyboard command for the display function and see what happens, IF it still pops up then it can't be a UIRT, streamzap IR issue, correct? It also seems that 1 program that was recorded last night was segemented into 3 parts, but everything else is just fine -- will the file segment like that if the tuners loose their signal or is it something else. No other recording did that and I had 3 other ones going at the same time -- all SD analog recordings and, I have had all 5 going at once without issue.

I had this problem a while back. Try setting the DVD Profiler auto import to Disabled in the Video menu. That fixed it for me.

dvd profiler

OK I found it, did you mean the options menu for dvd profiler meta-data in video library? I don't see how that relates to display showing up while watching live tv, but its now disabled, we'll see tonight.

Yep, that's what I meant. Not sure why it worked, but it did the trick for me.

thanks alfi33

that did it -- I don't understand why -- but display pop-ups gone. Weird that I have been using this system for like 6 months straight and it all the sudden now pops up. Thanks for the assist.
