Server won't start all of a suden

While watching a recorded show on a sage client last night the show stopped. I looked at the server and it was playing livetv. I tried to stop livetv and it should not stop. I had to force close sagetv to get it to do anything. When I reboot the server, sagetvservice.exe starts and uses 100% of the cpu and does not load. Sagetv.exe will not load either. I ran a checkdisk on both drives, I did a repair of sage and a system restore. It is still not working.

What can I try next? I would love to buy some of the new extenders but I need a server that works first.

Can I backup sage somehow? Uninstall, reinstall and restore the config?

What is in the wiz.bin file?

You could try enabling debug logging to see if the log has info about the startup issue. There could be a file it is having problems reading or maybe the database file (wiz.bin) is messed up, among other possibilities.

If wiz.bin is corrupt, you should replace it with an older copy if you have one. SageTV uses wiz.bak, but if the original is corrupt, it should try using that automatically.

Thanks Andy, looks like I had a corrupted show. I deleted it and re-started. No more problems. Off to buy an HD200
