Can't Get Rid Of A Horizontal Scan Line On Top

I have SageTV Media Center Beta installed and working great, but there is a single scan line on the very top of the screen that I can't get rid of. Any idea how to get that out of there ?

Are you sure it's not the closed caption data? Is the scan line white and does it seem to "stobe"/blink in different locations along that horizontal line?

I had to edit my source aspect ratio to 101% horizontal, and vertical because on many HD channels I would see the closed caption data.

I would gather this is your problem.

that's what overscan is for - that line is supposed to be there - but not on the screen.

If it is supposed to be there but not on the screen, is the 101% the answer or do you fix it some other way?

For PC clients, check Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Aspect Ratio Settings. You can set the values for each selected AR Mode, right above it -- and around p. 170 or so in the PDF manual.

For the HD100, there is a different way to customize aspect ratios in v6.4.

I got rid of my scan line by adding this line to my HD-100 property file

Code:
advanced_aspect_ratio_extra_modes=RTE|source\=2048,2048,4096,4050,FrontEdgeToCenter,FrontEdgeToCenter,Relative,Relative,Relative,Relative
Where RTE is the name of the new custom aspect ratio
