I would imagine the only way that would be possible is if you ordered the event/ppv through a box/device provided by your cable provider.

Im not sure what you mean by HD PVR unless you mean a cable company box.

The extender can't order events. What is required for that is two way communication from the tuner and the cable company. I know when I had a cable card Sony DVR I could not order it with the remote but I could call and order PPV. You had to have a decryption device on your end for that to work.

If you have a USBUIRT you can using the On screen remote plugin thats still being developed.

Right now it is fully functional but it could handle some more modifications.

Thats what that plugin is specifically designed to allow.

You go the the PPV channel, bring up the on screen remote and control the cable box directly.

If you would like I'll help you get it setup for the experience on other systems. This would only work on Windows and you would need a USBUIRT to transmit IR to the cable box. I assume you already have those 2 covered though.

Actaully no. I do not have the USB-UIRT. I was thinking about ordering one or picking one up at my local computer shop. Do you have it up and running?

Oh yeah it's working fine rather then a STB (set top box) I use mine to control a DVD changer and working on my CCTV system.

EventGhost also allows for RS232 controls but I only mentioned USBUIRT as it's probably the most common interface.

PPV Ordering....

I had the same need as I kept one cablebox for PPV located in my basement. I went with this: http://www.amazon.com/Next-Generatio...6594587&sr=8-1
and it works great. You just have to take the Cablebox (or whatever you have) remote out after you've switched to the PPV channel in Sage and you're good to go.

Regards,
SJL

Dish 1080P Video on Demand via HDPVR

I do not currently have a Dish DVR, but am considering one, and this is one of my hopes. Theoretically, could the combination of an HDPVR, a Dish DVR 622 or 722, and an HD extender somehow be used to get Dish Network's 1080P video on demand movies into Sage?

Can the HDPVR even handle 1080p, and would the resulting files be too ginormous?
