Do these need to go on the client? Or the Server? Or both?

This is a fix for the recording process, so it goes on the server. I'll update my other post.

Existing recordings would have to be fixed using some other tool.

And, just to make sure I'm on the same page here, this is to fix the problem where sometimes an HD recording (using my HDHR) plays back in a fast forward type of speed?

I'm hoping if fixes my timeline issue where only the timeline goes in fast forward speed, but not the video itself.

Sees to be better

Donkey sent me this file on Saturday and I applied it then - since then I've recorded 20+ shows off the HDHR (both SD and HD) and watched a number of live streams for a few minutes at a crack - so far I haven't seen any of the "fast foward" events. based on the rate I was seeing this happen (and fixing it with VideoRedo quick stream fix) that's certainly an improvement.

I'll be sure to post out here if I catch it happening again.

This new file works great for me as well. Wondering if it fixes the issues people including myself have been having with comskip and HD shows.

It might, but the update wasn't available when I posted the other ones.

Will the free trial of VideoRedo fix the recordings or do I have to purchase a lic? If it won't is there a good freeware app that will make the repairs?

Thanks,
HC

Note: The update for timeline issues has been updated. If you still have issues with the previous update, update to this update and update us on your results.

BTW: the word of the day is 'update'.

The free trial fixes recordings with their QuickStream Fix - but be careful for my recordings, once I run QuickStream Fix on them, the HD extender can not play them back. Everything else I have tried plays teh fixed files back perfectly. I have submitted a bug and provided a sample mpg. Support pointed me at the beta on the premise that they had already fixed the issue but unfortunately it has not been fixed.

Time to encode them to H.264.

The beta firmware plays back the videoredo processed files fine. I had to power cycle my extender after flashing the firmware before it could handle the files, but after that, it worked great.

After applying the update last night I had timeline issues on AI and DWTS at about the 55 minute mark.

These new updates have caused me nothing but problems. I went back to the distributed 6.4.2 tssplitter. After the first update I had timeline problems. After the second update, I get errors about my capture device drivers out of date.

On the bright side, a lot of my recording problems have gone away with the new beta.

Can't play many r5000 captures on extender

Latest firmware & 6.42 with the 5/13/08 tssplitter

Server plays all files fine. Extender either won't play or plays without audio most of my SD and HD r5000 recordings. Not all, but most don't play without any rhyme or reason. The only pattern I find is it is restricted to r5000 captures. Files from my hauppauge pvr/usb2 play fine.

FWIW, I haven't had any problems with 6.4.2 beta, new HD100 firmware or the timeline fix updates. I'm not saying anything was fixed since my timeline issues were sporadic and few and far between. But, these updates have not broken anything at my end.

My set up consists of an HDHR for QAM HD and a PVR-1600 for analog cable.
