Definitive answer on EPG Update times

Is what I am looking for

There doesn't seem to be much logic to it.
I am/have been struggling with my XMLTV importer and therefore also with EPG Update. I was using the trick of disabling enabling a channel to force an update.
The first time it did that and scheduled the next one for 24hours later.
Now currently when I force an update, it just keeps the next update scheduled for whatever was there (not 24hours after forcing).
Sometimes it updates after a service restart, sometimes not...
This morning it said update at 6 pm, I started fiddling with the grabber and importer and it decided to do an EPG update, very conveniently directly after my XMLTV import....how did it know about this??

So I am really wondering how the timing of this mechanism works. I'd like to have it update once a day, either in the early morning or maybe just before prime time, but like this, there;s no way I can be sure of the update schedule?? And also, I have to schedule the grab and import of my XMLTV data...

(next update is 24h after last successful update, whether automatic or forced)...

It does then while the update is still in progress (it also says last update is 0 mins ago)

I know that's what it is supposed to be, but that's not what I am seeing.
I did have a successfull import, but the next update was not reset to 24 hours but stayed what it was.
