Can you change the Channel Name?

In the past with older versions of Sage I rememeber being able to set up the guide with Logos and Channel Numbers. In 6.3.1 you can add logos, but the Channel Name is there and it seems you can't hide it. I don't mind it being there except the guide downloads with funky names like ...

MTVP for MTV
VH1P for VH1
TNTP for TNT
etc.

If there was a way to edit the name that would be great too ... Any thoughts?

No.. You can't change the channel names... nor would you want to...

The channel name is used in retrieving the guide data for the channel...

For example:

MTVP is NOT MTV....

MTV is the east coast feed for Music Television...
MTVP is the west coast (Pacific) feed for Music Television...

If you changed MTVP to MTV, you would end up with the guide data for the east coast feed... and your recordings would be incorrect.

I don't really want to change the name under the hood, just the way it appears on the guide.

Even though I on the West coast, I still call it MTV and TNT, not MTVP or TNTP .... My preference would be to be able to map the name in the guide to the real name. My second choice would be to just be able to turn off the name all together in the guide and just have the logo icon and channel number ... but it should like none of that is possible ...

It's not really impossible, nothing is, but it's not really trivial either. You could build some sort of lookup table (maybe in a property) and then whenever you display the network, go through the table and replace the appropriate names. But you'd have to do that in all the places the network is displayed.

Exactly ... I was hoping there was already such a table created once you bring in the video sources and channel lineup that would let you modify how it is shown. Somewhat like the relationship between screen name and menu title.

Sounds like it's probably an enhancement request. Other than that, maybe a toggle to show or not show channel id's as an alternate option, but still prefer ability to edit.

Funny thing is I don't remember this from versions gone by ... I started with v.2, move to v.4 and now going to 6 ... hmm, my aging memory I guess.
