Hi all - I'm evaluating SageTV at the moment and have had several stable days until today. I'm not sure what triggered the problems. I've got everything working again except one very strange problem.
I've had to reinstall everything to get video working again (hardware drivers, IRBlaster software and Sage itself). The IR Blaster on my Hauppauge PVR-150 was running fine until today for controlling my set top box. The IR Blaster controls the set top box fine from within its config program. It runs the test fine and can change channels. From within SageTV the IR emiter blinks as if it is sending instructions to the set top box, however the box does not respond. Does anyone have an idea what's going on? thanks! |

Are you sure when you reinstalled you had the checkbox marked to install the Hauppauge software for your remote? Are you sure that software is actually running?

Yes I'm sure of those.
SageTV tries to change the set top box. The emitter lights up, but the set top box doesn't respond. The blaster works fine from it's configuration program. |

You need to modify your IR file as it is sending something but your STB doesn't want to hear what Sage has to say. I think you can map IR through the GUI too but I do IR through EventGhost, a totally seperate app.

The config program for the IRBlaster controls the box fine. This is the program that saves settings for SageTV to use. This used to work before I reinstalled SageTV, and all I did previously was configure the IRBlaster with it's config program.
Somehow SageTV is not seeing the configuration or is misreading it. |

Can someone check...
Just noticed that this directory is empty after my install.
C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\Common\RemoteCodes\Hauppauge IR Blaster Is it empty for others as well? SageTV setup refers to a "stub device" in the video source for my PVR-150, I assume it means the "StubDevice.ir" in the "RemoteCodes" directory. I have a Sagem set top box. Does anyone know where the Hauppauge IR Blaster stored its configuration? I wonder what started all this. There was an iTunes/Quicktime update and I also saw WindowsUpdate had new Hauppauge drivers on it's list. Tried to watch video yesterday morning and no longer saw a picture (just sound). Multiple installs later and trying out all the playback settings I have playback working again... just no set top box control. thanks again for everyone's help. |

It appears this is a Hauppauge problem, and not SageTV, since I can't get the WinTV app that comes with Hauppauge to change the set top box either.
I've also ordered the USB UIRT device to replace this setup. Hope it arrives soon! |
