Timebar is wrong
While trying to troubleshoot why comskip was not working correctly I came across an odd issue. I found that if I went to the time indexes generated by showanalyzer in WMP it was just right. If I go to the same time indexes in Sage they are out by as much as 30 seconds. For example, if a commercial break is supposed to end at 25:11 and I look look at the video at that time in WMP it is correct. But if I look at 25:11 in Sage it is at least 11 seconds past where the commercial break ended. I tried changing the renderer, decoder, and quickfixed it with videoredo. No change. I'm using Sage 6.3.5.

I see my post got moved to the customizations section. Let me rephrase the question. Why is it that when I go to a time index in a video file in Sage and the same time in WMP, that Sage is out by 30 seconds or so? I know Sage is out because WMP, VideRedo, and Show Analyzer Schoolhouse all bring me to the same part in the video.

Has this been resolved in the release candidates (6.3.8 or 6.3.9) ??

If there is an issue encountered while using a customization, check with the customizaton's author. If it can be confirmed that the issue is in an up-to-date version of SageTV w/o the customization, then submit a bug report to SageTV.

This seems to be true for at least certain video configurations in the default UI as well. I think there is some kind of directshow issue with the code that needs work.
Others have mentioned this problem before, but noone has reported a fix yet. Folks who are seeing this should definitely file bug reports.

Something with the video counters is screwed up and has been this way for a long time. (This is why I don't use any commercial skipping.) |
