I'm not getting AC3 over HDMI???

Anyone getting AC3 to work over HMDI? I can't seem to figure this one out. AC3 works over toslink, but not over HDMI. I just get stereo over HMDI no matter what the source. The extender also seems to be mis-identifying most of my AC3 shows and labeling them stereo, which, despite them being AC3 5.1, plays in stereo over both toslink and HDMI. Those that ARE labeled as 5.1 only work as 5.1 over toslink. Some of this may be due to the fact that I just got a new Onkyo 875 and it didn't ship with an English manual, but the shows are still mis-labeled as stereo and I can get it to work with Toslink with the same settings as HDMI. Any advice here? Running latest firmware.

Ug. I'm still only able to get 2 channel PCM over HDMI. Anyone else see this problem? I would like to free up my Toslink because I am short one and resort to RCA for one of my connections.

For AC3 over hdmi you need to select spdif as the audio connector and hdmi for the video connector in the settings menu.

I just noticed that too with my new Sony receiver. I'm wondering if that is by design ? or will we be able to get ac3 over hdmi at some point ?

This did not work for me until firmware update 20080129 0 but it now works perfectly. Like _Demo_ says select SPDIF for the audio output in the settings. Otherwise it may be a setup or compatibility problem with your receiver.
