Recording is off by 8 secs

The recordings start and stop 8 secs early. Is there a way to fix this?

That would mean that your PC's clock is off. Resync it with the 'net and things should be fine. My server seems to be spot on, but there are always a few stations (Cartoon Network) who don't quite understand the concept of "Regularly Scheduled Programming."

fox has historically liked to start and stop shows a few moments (20 seconds?) before or after the hour and half hour. it is annoying, as even with Sage's ability to start and stop favorites a minute or two early or late, it then eats up another tuner.

I usually set my server's clock to catch the earliest show with about 10 seconds pre-recording and add end padding to my favorites so they don't get cut off. I occassionally get overlaps in my recordings when I don't have enough free tuners-typically the one minute padding.

After playing with this, it appears that the time on my computer makes no difference. I changed the computer time by up to a minute, the recording is still off by eight secs.

LMAO!

Things are obviously far different where you are than here in Australia re: timing of shows. I've found that a minimum five minutes of padding is required before and after my recordings to make sure I get all of the show. Some of our commercial networks are so bad that I've bumped this up to 30mins post padding to make sure I catch the end of some shows .

Mick.
