Would like to record audio only

I would like, for some programs, to record audio only, and in mp3, so that they are like podcasts and I can then either load 'em on an iPod or listen somehow through Sage. Shows like Hardball, BookTV, Meet The Press, etc. are good candidates since they are just talking head shows.

Any ideas or hints?

I don't think there's a way to record just the audio track, but there are any number of tools that can split out the audio track from a file after it's been recorded.

I'm not an expert, but it might be possible to add an audio-only custom format to the built-in video conversion menu. (There's already an iPod format option.)

While sage will only record video files, you can create a video conversion profile to convert a vid to the MP3 only version...
Add the following to sage.properties:

transcoder/formats/Audio-128Kbit\ MP3=f\=mpg;[bf\=aud;f\=mp3;sr\=44100;ch\=2;br\=128000;]
