Can SageTV record digital audio??

Sorry if this is a n00b question, but I haven't been able to find an answer
to it.

I'm considering purchasing a SageTV + PVR-250 bundle. My HTPC has
the nVidia MCP-T "Soundstorm" integrated audio, so it has digital SPDIF
inputs and outputs (both optical and RCA).

My Dish Network receiver can output both digital PCM and Dolby Digital
5.1 on it's optical output.

So...
Instead of using the two-channel analog audio inputs on the PVR-250,
is there any way I could hook up the digital optical out from the receiver
to the audio input of the motherboard and have SageTV record the sound
digitally along with the video from the PVR-250??

Seems to me that would be very desirable since the audio quality would
be better. If it is possible, does it work for both 2-channel PCM and
DSD 5.1??

Thanks very much for the help!

Nope. Don't think so.

Would be nice though for people with that capability.

No PVR can AFIAK.

That is none can without cheating (like DirecTivos that just capture the broadcast bitstream, audio and video).
