How can I disable the new Animated menus?

The new animated menus are unusable on my Sage server. The menus are missing options, highlighted options take you to the wrong menu, etc.

How do I turn these off in the properties file? I tried doing it through the setup menus but it's so screwed up I can't get through the setup menu to do it.

I think you would set: ui/animation/core_enabled=false

Are you using any customizations? If so, do you still have problems with a default setup? If you do, then contact SageTV to let them know about the issue.

I'm using the stock UI, no add-ons at all.

I doubt it's any sort of bug, the video card is an old Rage 128 card that has worked since I started using Sage 2.2. If it will still work by disabling the animations then it'll save me the money from buying an AGP video card.
